Last week, I took my niece to "Hogwarts" near London. Seeing her grow up, remembering also my clients in their efforts to become who they choose to be, it struck me, how the tale of Harry Potter reflects what neuro sciences also know: Our decisions are key to who we become. In the end, we are not just products of circumstances. We have an active part, making choices. If you want to read more about how our activities shape our brains and minds, take a look at the book "Altered Traits" by Daniel Goleman and Richard Davidson (2017), a review of studies and meta studies regarding the effects of mindfulness practice on the mind and brain.
